Cross contour analysis and hatching

Pretty self explain irony. Our professor had us draw a blanket contour, then add some cross contours to show the three dimensional shape. Then, we were to add cross hatching according to the cross contour to help show depth in the plane.

Cardboard Sculpture

Our Class was tasked with the objective to create a sculpture larger than two feet wide and four feet tall. Prior to the task, the teacher asked us to think of around twenty objects/symbols in our lives that were important to us. They could be actual object, with stories behind them, or simply a type of object or simple symbol that we relate to. Among my list of objects and symbols, were the Scottish thistle(representing my family heritage and pride), my grandfather's guitar, the cross, and a key that my girlfriend gave to me. From these objects I drew inspiration and in relation, created this sculpture at about two and half feet wide and about four feet high.

This piece means to represent a quick glance over part of my life up until this point. I will let you as the viewer, interpret the rest from there.
If you have questions about any of my pieces please email me.

Experimental Design

A two dimensional foundation art class required the class to create 3 different patterns from a single drawn module, by repeating the module over in varying arrangements. I aimed to design something with both a classical and modern feeling. Through trial and error O came up with a design that not only incorporate my original intent but delivered a strong feeling of movement an rhythm. And by keeping the pattern small, I was able to bring attention to the details of the individual modules and the space created between them.

This is a space to feature my art and design.  Stop back from time to time to see what I am up to.
